Code switching and the use of English among Croatian students

This thesis aims to describe the phenomenon known as code switching. The thesis is divided into chapters starting with the definition of code switching and followed by explanations why and when it occurs. Reasons for code switching are closely explained as well. After the theoretical part, the methodology is closely revised and includes research question, hypotheses and research method. This is followed by the analysis of the results of the study, which provides an insight into the usage of English among Croatian students. Some examples of English expressions commonly used among the students are listed in this part of the thesis.
