Scintigrafija cijelog tijela s TI-201 u bolesnika s karcinomom štitnjače
TI-201 total body scintigraphy was performed in 19 patients with thyroid carcinoma who had undergone surgical treatment. Almost half of them had elevated thyreoglobulin or calcitonin serum levels, but negative whole body scintigraphy with I-131. TI-201 scintigraphy was positive in six out of eight patients with proven metastases. In three of them metastases did not accumulate I-131. TI-201 scintigraphy showed more localizations of metastases than I-131 scintigraphy in two patients. Our results indicate that TI-201 total body scintigraphy is a potentially useful technique for detection of metastases in the follow up of patients with elevated thyreoglobulin levels and negative I-131 whole body scintigraphy. It is however necessary to include a greater number of patients to assess the real value of this method.
