Development of Croatian Tourism Depending on Efficient Traffic System
According to the information presented at the recent specialized ITTF fairs, almost all tourist capacities for the season have been sold out. Therefore, the Croatian Government (together with the tourist industry) should be considering with great intensity the improvements in traffic connections between tourist destinations and the market environment as part of preparations for the beginning of the tourist season (apart from considering the improvement in quantity and quality of the tourist offer). It is only logical that all the subjects are interested in efficient functioning of the traffic system, primarily at distinctly tourist traffic routes towards the sea, since there would be no serious tourist development without them. Otherwise, motorized tourists will (not) visit our Adriatic coast using roads whose condition in most cases clearly resembles Paris-Dakar rally. Thus, such a move towards quality improvement is based, among other things, on high quality traffic infrastructure, and above all on the road network as the backbone of the dominating mobility of tourists in Croatia and also in most countries of the world. His paper intends to point out the possible model of evaluating state road network from the aspect of its contribution to the overall tourist trade in Croatia.
