Chapter 10: Impact of Handling, Radiotelemetry and Food Restriction
Virtually no procedure on laboratory animals can be conducted without concomitant handling or restraint. Yet, handling and restraint are potential stressors that have consequences for both the wealfare of the animals, and the results of the study. For the purpose of refinement, it is necessary to identify the least stressful techniques and the ones to which animals have been proven to habituate.
