Cystitis cystica and recurrent urinary tract infections in children : the outcome
Cystitis cystica, a peculiar pathological change of bladder mucosa is rarely reported in children. In order to investigate outcome of the disease, we retrospectively analyzed a group of 127 children, 2 boys and 125 girls, with cystoscopically proven cystitis cystica. Cystitis cystica is related with recurrent urinry tract infections and the outcome is strongly correlated to severity of the disease as well as to compliance with long- term urinary tract infection prophylaxis.
