Factors related to patients general satisfaction with maxillary anterior teeth appearance: a stepwise multiple regression analysis
Study aimed to analyze factors related to patients genral satisfaction with maxillary anterior teeth appearance. 120 subjects (39 men, (81 women) rated general satisfaction and satisfaction with colour, shape, position and size of tooth, visibility of tooth, gingiva and black holes in rest and smile and gingival zeniths. All the parametars have been analyzed with respest to gender. General satisfaction with maxillary anterior teeth appearance was high (p<0.05). Patients assesment of colour, gingival zenith position, and visability of the tooth and gingiva in smile explained almost 50% of general satisfaction in men (p<0.05). Patients assessment of visability of gingiva, black holes and tooth in rest and in smile, colour, colour with/length ratio of the tooth explained only 29% of general satisfaction in women (p<0.05). The results revealed that different esthetic factors influence patients evaluation of general satisfaction with maxillary anterior teeth appearance in men and women.
