Top Management Team Cohesiveness and Firm Agility
The purpose of this study is to understand the extent to which TMT cohesion could help explain firms' engagement in the competitive dynamics through higher level of firms’ agility. This analysis, among other, is build on upper echelons theory (Hambrick and Mason, 1984) and focuses on the effects of TMTs on firms' propensity to undertake a large number of different types of actions. The results confirm that certain characteristics of TMT members do affect their firms' participation and activity on the market. Indeed, the results show that TMTs play a significant role in shaping firms' decisions about strategic actions and responses.
