ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification in Croatian Wood Industry
In contemporary market conditions companies are forced to achieve that level of quality that will satisfy customer’s needs. In ruthless fight for every costumer companies must to invest in quality of products, processes and services as a condition for survival. One way for achieving quality improvement is by implementing and certifying quality management system. Currently the most widespread and the best known quality system is ISO 9001:2008 Quality management system – Requirements. It provides companies opportunity to create a system for achieving competitive advantage through quality management and continuous improvement, with the help of appropriate tools and methods. The aim of this study is to investigate prevalence, advantages, disadvantages and reasons for certification according to ISO 9001:2008 standard in Croatian wood industry. Research method of survey questionnaire was used. Besides primary data that are gathered though questionnaire, secondary data from ISO Survey are also used. This article gives state of quality systems in Croatian wood industry.
