DETIM - Program support for track maintenance management

The DETerioration IMprovement program, developed in 2000/01, provides a comprehensive and effective maintenance planning tool for surface, rail and tie programs. The DETIM program makes extensive use of track performance data, to forecast the effects of deterioration and maintenance activity, and to formulate cost effective maintenance programs. The DETIM combines the latest techniques in track data acquisition, analysis, and program planning. This software could provide detailed reports of past, present and expected future track condition, presented in colour screen graphic displays as well as hard-copy output. DETIM also contains a possibility to develop an extensive range of easy-to-use maintenance planning functions that assist track managers in developing annual plans and budgets for surface, rail and tie maintenance and in estimating longer-range maintenance requirements.
