Loading Capacity and Bending Characteristics of Textile Frozen for Automated Manipulation

An experimental study is presented for the evaluation of ultimate bending moment and the assesment of flexural load-deflection curves of wet-frozen textile specimens. Bending characteristics are obtained using modified standard three point bending test. Test specimens are made from textile materials representative for the selected technological process of clothing production. The results indicate the values of ultimate bending moment as the material property necessary for the simple numerical description based on the rigid-plastic model. The recorded load-deflection curves indicate possible improvements of the existing numerical model. This research is directed towards the evaluation of process parameters for a highly automated textile manipulation in the clothing production process.
