SYSTEMS OF STANDARD SETS OF MOTIONS IN TECHNOLOGICAL SEWING OPERATION
Successful management and manufacture in garment industry is based on JIT, QR and TMB strategies, where, following the model time-preciseness-quality, manufacturing process organisation is viewed upon as the activity of a sports team. Principal aim is to reduce time (faster), increase quality (better) and reduce costs (more valuable). Frequent changes in assortment and models, according to the requirements of the market, as well as relatively small manufacturing series, ask for a flexible organisation and familiarity with precise times necessary for particular operations, such that enable a continuous material flow in the manufacturing lines. The paper reviews the procedure of designing workplaces for the technological sewing operations, as regarding: selection of equipment, ergonomic workplace design, as well as defining optimal methods of work using previously developed standard sets of motions, feasible in sewing. Using and combining these standards sets is implemented to define an optimal method, with appropriate normal time of performing, prior to the initiation of the manufacturing itself, which offers the benefits of precise cost calculation and defining delivery rates.
