Symbolic descriptors of nucleotide and amino acid coding
Cantor set and horseshoe map arrangement of nucleotides and amino acids extract patterns of the standard genetic code table1. This result implies that strings with symbolic addresses of particular codons and amino acids exhibit universal metric properties characteristic of a large class of recursion relations Xn+1 = l f(Xn). The consequences of this phenomenon are discussed in the context of: a) protein structure description, b) storage and transmission of the genetic code information. Basic physical and chemical characteristics of the nucleotides and amino acids are shown to be related to the one- and two-dimensional arrangement (mapping) of the symbolic addresses, which definine the descriptors location.
