Network-on-Chip Routing of Video Applications Data Streams on Multi-core Processors

Multimedia applications are creating long flows of data on the modern and upcoming architectures that use Network-on-Chip (NoC). When these flows are entwined with other system flows congestions occurs. To be able to direct the system to prioritize certain multimedia applications in the congested NoC additional prioritization info needs to be available to NoC routers. Needed prioritization info can be acquired from multimedia applications. In this paper SSMPR architecture that uses single-cycle multihop asynchronous repeated traversals with priority routing is presented.
