Efficient FPGA structures for digital signal processing
This work considers high data-rate algorithms for digital signal processing. Such algorithms take place in communications, measurement, as well as in 2- and 3-D signal processing. In this research, we consider algorithms and structures which are suitable for implementation on field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). In this context, an implementation of high-dynamic range software defined receiver is presented. Such a receiver requires high-performance analog to digital converter. Its nonlinearities are often mitigated using a technique called dithering. For this purpose, multiplierless digital colored noise generator is developed. Furthermore, for efficient processing of complex valued vectors, a dedicated digital signal processor is described. Finally, the application of FPGA devices in 3D scene sensing is considered.
