Digital Audio Stimuli Synthesis in Audiometric Examinations
A digital audio stimuli synthesis method is provided to cover most of conventional and special audiometric examinations, including Pure Tone Audiometry (Standard and High Frequency), Speech Audiometry, Tests for Functional Hearing Loss, Objective Hearing Tests and other special auditory tests involving also the masking capabilities. A described realization - the two completely independent channel synthesizer - pointed out excellent characteristics regarding spectral purity of a generated signal, signal-to-noise ratio, accuracy and resolution of preseted parameters with absolute repeatability of the synthesized signal, increasing the reliability of performed examinations. With respect to the actual IEC/ISO/ANSI standards on signal parameters used in different audiometric examinations, the described synthesizer is designed to meet all and improve the most of standard requirements.
