Electric Parameters of Electrode-Skin Interface During High Current Pulse Transcranial Electrical Stimulation
Intraoperative motor evoked potentials monitoring is a method introduced for preserving motor functions during surgery that may induce damage specific to the motor system. In order to overcome the stimulation threshold (risen through anaesthesia) short high current pulses are used. This pulses may cause tissue damage, especially at the electrode-skin interface. The design of an appropriate transcranial electrical stimulator is discussed. Voltage setting prediction method is introduced into the design to overcome the possible electrode-skin interface damage.
