Multifunctional Philosophy in diesel engine designing
This paper describes a multifunctioanl design of the axial diesel engine with crankshaft injection system. The main idea of the development is such a design that will provide a significant reduction of assembly cost. This is possible thanks to multifunctioanl compact symetrical design. The second goal of the development is the creation of a lightweitght diesel engine with high specific output. For that purpose, a great deal of the known methods for the power increase of the diesel engine was collected and applied here. So in one engine there are uniflow scavenging process, variable compression ratio and two-cycle thermodynamical process.
