Treatment With Interferon beta in patients with a relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis
The aim of the study was to evaluate the treatment with Interferon beta (IB) in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RR MS) based on the clinical follow-up of the patients and the need for possible repeated coritcosteroid therapy (CST) during relapses. The study group consisted of 15 patients with definite RR MS, aged from 20 to 49 years, observed during a period of 8 years, and treated with IB for least 6 months up to 4 years. The clinical data were obtained from patient's medical records. In most of our patients with RR MS Inteferon beta had a beneficial effect for the clinical course of the disease, with a reduced number of relapses and with less indication for short-term application of corticosteroids
