Transfer of the coverage values on the processless printing plate depending on the screen ruling
In the plate making process, the plate is exposed by defined electromagnetic irradiation and then developed. Developers are usually highly alkaline solutions. Due to the negative ecological impact of those solutions, a huge effort is put into development of the processless printing plates. The aim of this paper is to determine influence of theprocessless printing plate’s imaging screen ruling on the transfer of the coverage values in the reproduction chain. Four sample plates with various coverage values fields were imaged using different screen ruling. The results of the investigation have shown that imaging screen ruling has significant impact on the transfer of the coverage values on the printing plates. Although increase of the imaging screen ruling increases quality of the imprint, it has to be noted that in the same time there are negative consequences - higher dot gain on the printing plate, and on the imprint.
