Hybrid organic-inorganic POM's of Lindqvist and Keggin type

The last ten years one of the scientific interest of our group is the synthesis and characterization of hybrid organic-inorganic compounds based on POMs. Modification and functionalization of MoxOyn– or MoxMyOzn– with organic ligands such as peptides, amino acids, Schiff base derivatives or aroylhydrazones has been exploited to achieve more desirable properties. The prepared POMs were screened for the possible antiproliferative activity and some of them were used in catalytic studies as (pre)catalysts for epoxidation of cyclooctene without solvent. The prepared and examined POMs were of Lindqvist type, {; ; Mo6O19}; ; 2–, Keggin type, [(VIV, VV, Mo10)VO40]6– or -[Mo8O26]4– and α-[Mo8O26]4–.
