The role of noninvasive methods in the evaluation of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux in patients without reflux esophagitis
Long therm exposure ot the esophageal mucosa to acid or alkaline content causes dammage to the mucosa. In the group of 30 patients the reflux episodes were longer during night period, espetialy in the group of alkaline reflux patients. This group odf patients had significantly lower gastroesophageal pressure. In the group with alkaline reflux disease more intensive endoscopic follow-up is requires. Esophaleal manometry vcan be helpfull in determination of patioents with better response to therapy.
