The influence of the extreme temperatures to the mechanical and surface properties of the glass meshes

The glass meshes are an important part of the technical textiles. As a layer of a façade glass meshes in the building to different temperatures are exposed. Standard provides testing method of the glass meshes at the 60 °C. This temperature does not cover all temperatures what glass meshes must endure during usage. Main question is what happens with mechanical properties and consequently with surface properties at the other temperatures. This question is very important in building since good mechanical properties ensure a good insulation for a long period. To obtain that knowledge in this work standard method was modified, with exposure glass meshes at the – 18 °C and 80 °C. For better evaluation of the glass meshes influence of an alkali solution was investigated too. The alkali solution same composition as in the façade construction was prepared. In addition, concentration of the alkali solution was modified. The glass meshes were characterized by determination of the mechanical properties and surface characteristics by the Dino-lite microscope.
