Synthesis and Homogenous Catalysis of the Ionic Transition Metal Complexes
The hybrid phosphine ligands that contain significantly different types of hard (N-, O-, S-) and soft (P-) donor functions have attracted much attention due to their hemi labile nature. These ligands possess one weakly coordinating group that can reversibly release during the catalytic cycle providing unsaturation site at the metal centres, which can significantly tailor the activity of the transition metal catalysts[1]. As our continued activities in developing phosphine-functionalized ionic liquids (phosphine-FILs) for transition metal complex catalysed homogeneous catalysis[1, 2], herein, the imidazolium-based P, N-, P, S-, and P, N, O-hybrid ligands are respectively grafted into the structures of the ILs to develop a series of hybrid phosphine-FILs, which are applied to construct the ionic transition metal complexes as the homogeneous catalysts for organic syntheses, such as hydroformylation of olefins, carbonylative coupling reactions etc. The obtained hybrid phosphine-FILs and the corresponding ionic metal-complexes were characterized by 1H NMR, 31P-NMR, and single crystal X-ray diffraction.
