Influence of Music on Emotions and Perceptions Of a Healthcare Institution Quality

One of the direct ways of influencing emotions and service quality perception is by music stimuli. Purpose of this research is to examine the impact of music with different combination of musical elements (i.e. sad vs. happy music) on respondents’ emotions (positive and negative) and their perceptions of a healthcare institution quality. Results, in alliance with previous research, demonstrate a strong relationship between emotions and healthcare institution quality perceptions. Contrary to expectations, research results have not confirmed effect of music (neither sad nor happy) on emotions of respondents nor on their healthcare institution quality perceptions.
