Proceedings of the 1st Special Session on Smart Environment Technologies

Special session on Smart Environment Technologies was held in the frame of the 21st International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM 2013) in attractive ambience of Split and Primosten on September 18-20, 2013. The Conference was organized by the University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. The Conference has been technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). The technical conference program features six general conference sessions, one symposium, and five special sessions. Special session on Smart Environment Technologies was organized by the University of Split, FESB. In total, eight papers were submitted to the Special session on Smart Environment Technologies, among which four were accepted for publication and presented at the Conference. The main goal of this Special session was to present and discuss recent advances in technologies, architectures, algorithms and protocols for smart environments with emphasis on real smart environment applications.
