Contribution and Role of Organizational Capabilities in Growth and Performance of Croatian Companies

Defined as a unique organizational context and set of organizational routines and activities, based on organizational resources and their overall coordination and integration across organization, organizational capabilities can be seen as a strong determinant of growth and performance. Besides theoretical overview of capabilities, their importance, role and different forms in organization, this paper presents results of an empirical research conducted among 113 large and medium size organizations in Croatia. Results show how organizations have recognized presence and importance of different organizational capabilities developing them intensively inside organizations. Additionally, results of correlation analysis show connection of different organizational capabilities - operational and dynamic capabilities, with organizational performance, whereas performance was measured as change in profitability and market growth.
