Renal blood flow as an indicator of graft function in patients with renal transplants
In patients with renal transplants, renal blood flow in comparison with normal graft function was significantly lower in patients with acute tubular necrosis, as well as in patients with acute rejection. In both patients with acute tubular necrosis and acute rejection the graft function improvement was followed with the rise of renal blood flow. In the patients with previously normal graft function, acute rejection was accompanied by deterioration in perfusion, leading to the fall in renal blood flow. Renal blood flow is a reliable prognostic factor in the graft function recovery and evaluation of therapeutic effects.
