Detection of HPV from genital sites in asymptomatic men by RFLP and Digene Hybrid Capture II
Genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is one of the most common sexually transmitted disease in both women and men.The aim of our study was to compare detection of genital HPV in asymptomatic men by Digene Hybrid Capture II and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP). There is accumulating evidence that asymptomatic men are important reservoirs of HPV. Molecular detection methods are primarily adapted for screening women. Further studies are needed to evaluate HPV detection by Dygene Hybrid Capture II and RFLP in asymptomatic men.
