Model Level Timing Analysis for IEC 61499 and 4DIAC

Many industrial systems have the need to operate in real-time. In such systems the ability to provide functionality on time can be of the same importance as the correctness of the functionality itself. One of the crucial properties of real-time software systems is the Worst Case Execution Time (WCET). It denotes the maximum amount of time a computational unit needs to execute its functionality. As a part of the ASSIST project, carried out in cooperation between Mälardalen University and ABB Corporate Research, we have developed a method for WCET analysis of IEC 61499 software systems. The analysis is performed on the odel level, in a compositional manner.
