FILTERING SCHEMES FOR THE WINDOW-TIME SPACE FLOW CONTROL (WTFC)

Using the Window-Time (WT) plane, determined with the total network capacity point, a Window-Time-Space flow control (WTFC) algorithm is utilized to estimate transmitter's optimal packet sending rate. In this paper, filtering mechanisms needed to achieve WTFC feedback stability are presented. The post-filtering approach appeared to be more convenient for WTFC, and two algorithms were applied: packet sending rate slowdown and period filtering. Both algorithms are made adaptive with regard to bandwidth-delay product of the path. Filtering parameters were tuned experimentally. Simulation measurement results are presented and analyzed.
