Segment of Alcohol Wetting in Web Offset

The scientific approach to the ecobalance problem is based on the information about the influence of the production process and the products on the environment. In case of alcohol wetting in the web offset printing there is the question of the substance which, except it causes the primary pollution, belongs to the group of chemical compounds which can cause a series of complex photochemical reactions. The analysis results of 2-propanol at six measuring places in the air of the working area, determined in various conditions in regard to the speed of the machine, number of printing units and microclimatic conditions are presented in the paper. The emission values of 2-propanol have been presented for the same regime of printing as also of total volatile organic compounds. The share of 2-propanol in the total emission of the volatile organic compounds have similar trend as the concentration of the mnetioned pollutant in the air of the working area in the same conditions. The daily concentration variations in outside atmosphere of the volatile organic compounds characterizes two maximums, the primary one in the morning hours and the secondary one in the early evening.
