The manual is a tool for developers and local actors which are in charge of promoting sustainable local economic development in a region. A series of technical briefs explains the main approach, concept and methodology of local economic development, local partnerships, role of local actors, role and functions of local development agencies and other local economic development issues. On the basis of a set of tools and case studies of local economic development initiatives, local actors are provided with the means to initiate and implement development activities in their own countries.
