Traffic Congestion Control in ATM Virtual Private Network
ATM Virtual Private Network provides a secure connection over a shared infrastructure of public network simulating a dedicated link to the enterprise user. In such a network efficient usage of the link bandwidth may be ensured by fast resource management (FRM) and intranode policing (INP). This paper deals with the analysis of design strategies of ATM Virtual Private Networks such as End-to-End Virtuel Private Netvork (EEVPN) and Broadband Vitual Private Network (BVPN). It explains how to solve traffic congestio problem in BVPN, which is more inclined to congestion than EEVPN. A quantitative comparison of three bandwidth allocation schemes is also performed.
