Adenoma pleomorphe of the nasal cavity: a report of two cases.
Pleomorphic adenomas are the most common tumor of the major salivary glands, but are unusual in the respiratory tract. Although the vast majority of minor mucous and serous glands are located in the lateral nasal wall, pleomorphíc adenomas in the nasal cavity mostly originate from the nasal septum. Fewer than 20% of the intranasal pleomorphic adenomas were noted to have arisen from the lateral nasal wall. A one case of pleomorphic adenoma of the lateral wall of nasal cavity in a 69-year-old woman, and second case of pleomorpic adenoma of nasal septum in 22-year old woman is reported. The diagnosis and treatment of this rare lesion is discussed. Endoscopic surgery can be considered an effective treatment for the resection of benign tumors involving the sìnonasal tract.
