Opacity Transfer Standard Calibration

Since diesel exhaust gas opacity measurement became obligatory for most vehicles in the Republic of Croatia, am issue could be raised about measurement traceability of measuring instruments by which those measurements are carried out. Instruments for measuring diesel exhaust gas opacity are annually calibrated with working standards which are tested/calibrated by Vehicle Center of Croatia Calibrating laboratory. Working standard are tested/calibrated by an RTR PGT 100 instrument. This paper describes a method by which this instrument is tested and calibrated, and by which measurement traceability to a higher reference standard is ensured.
