Cognitive Autonomous Diving Buddy
"Cognitive Autonomous Diving budDY - CADDY" is an FP7-ICT project to be funded under the Call 10 starting with January 2014. The coordinator of the project is UNIZG-FER and other partners are Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy ; Istituto Superior Tecnico, Portugal ; University of Vienna, Austria ; Jacobs University, Germany ; University of Newcastle, United Kingdom ; and Diver Alert Network Europe, Malta. The main tasks of this research project is to develop new methodologies and technical systems in the area of underwater robotics that will be able to replace human diving buddies. Specifically, we want to develop a robotic system capable of interacting with a human diver through the roles of diving "guide" - a robotic system that leads the diver through the underwater ; diving "slave" - a robotic system that assists the diver during underwater operations ; and diving "observer" - a robotic system that monitors diver state and reports to the surface. This paper will give short description of the main project objectives and tasks.
