From hemodynamic towards cardiomechanic sensors in implantable devices
Sensor could significantly improve the cardiac electrotherapy. It has to provide longterm stabile signal not impeding the device longevity and lead reliability. It may not introduce special implantation and adjustment procedures. Hemodynamic sensors based on the blood flow velocity and cardiomechanic sensors based on the lead bending measurement are disclosed. These sensors have a broad clinical utility. Triboelectric and high-frequency lead bending sensors yield accurate and stable signals whereby functioning with every cardiac lead. Moreover, high frequency measurement avoids use of any kind of special hardware mounted on the cardiac lead.
