Citation manager softwares freely available to U of Zagreb students (EndNote Web, Zotero, Biblioexpress, Wikindx) - analysis and comparison
The creation of proper bibliographic citations, although considered to be the least intellectual challenging part of the research, is a necessity for all research workers. A citation is a signpost and an acknowledgement . As a signpost it signals the location of one’s source and as an acknowledgement it reveals that one is indebted to that source. There are many different citation formats that are used, such as APA citation style, MLA citation style, Chicago style etc. Applying proper citation style can cause many problems because it requires great knowledge of a citation style rules. To address this, different software packages (citation/reference/bibliographic managers) have been developed to help writers manage and generate bibliographic citations lists. The aim of this research is to analyze and compare four different citation managers freely available to the Croatian academic and research community (EndNote Web, Zotero, Biblioexpress, Wikindx).
