Regularity of tissue oedema pressure changes during primary healing
The changes in the wound during the process of healing are reflected in the tissue edema pressure around the wound. The tissue edema dynamics around the wound is closely connected with the wound healing process. It is possible to measure the edema by an impression method, based on the shoremetry principles (1, 7). By our own modification of the Schioetze˘s tonometer, the edema pressure was measured after performing the upper medial laparotomy and in condition of primary healing. This procedure was carried out during 8 postoperative days. The results were statistically analyzed and presented as a curve (3). In this way the qualitative biological events in the wound were presented quantitatively. The dynamic edema curve facilitates definition of the primary wound healing
