Absolute-scale measurement of Compton backscattering in germanium at 105.3 keV
(Part of abstract) The Compton-scattering differential cross section, d^2 sigma/d Omega dE, was measured at the incident enegry of 105.3 keV. The experimental method used in the present experiment was introduced by the present authors. A clear spectrum in a wide energy range with an uncertainty of absolute scale of less than 4 percent was obtained. A ^(155)Eu radioactive source, emitting a complex multi-line gamma spectrum was used in the experiment. The non-Compton detectro-to-detector scattering processes were calculated according to our earlier work. A fair agreement between the impulse approximation (IA) using the H-like wave functions and experimental values was obtained, while the IA with Hartree-Fock wave function values agrees to the experimental data very well.
