Salona u svjetlu novih arheoloških istraživanja

Salona, the capital of the roman province of Dalmatia, was always in the focus of the research of the academician Duje Rendić-Miočević, especially its formation and development from the earliest periods to the late antiquity. On his classes and field excavations he was discussing to his students the complexity of Salonitan monuments illuminating them from all aspects. His farreaching thoughts are confirmed by the new discoveries at the area of Salonitan amphitheatre. In te last decade some archaeological excavations are the significant contribution towards the cognition of urban development of Salona, e. g. in the eastern part of the city (Urbs orientalis) on the remparts and towers near Porta andetria and in the center where was found a new city forum with the temple of Jupiter.
