Reljefni prikazi i motivi na riderskim nadrobnim spomenicima

Starting with Mommsen's collection work on CIL (Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum), through the first systematic archaeological research under the guidance of the academic Duje Rendić Miočević, the epigraphic heritage of Rider has officially been given the title of the foundation of the Illyrian, especially Delmatian onomastics. The research is mainly focused on the inscriptions, while the decorative elements, including various motifs and relief impressions, on them were left aside. The aim of this work is also to contribute to the rich tombstone inscription heritage its artistic elements, as they are indivisible. In the vast array of tombstones, the tituli and stelae are most frequent. There is also a small number funerary altars, ash chests, sarcophagi and urns. Following the relief oraments of a few tens of Rider tombstones with different vegetable, zoomorphic and figural motifs, we see a complete merger of Roman culture with the culture of the local indigenous people.
