Heteroessences: community, demonstratives and interpretation in Agamben’s philosophy of language
Agamben’s re-conceptualization of the human being as the speaking being is fundamental for his conceptions of political and ethical life. Taking that reconceptualization as the starting point Agamben dissolves political and ethical subject through its simultaneous de- subjectivation and resubjectivation. Following that conception, the human being is the subject of its de- subjectivation. However, the problem of essence, foundation, subjectivity does not disappear ; on the contrary, it is simply shifted from the interiority to the exteriority of the subject. In the paper that figure of the thinking is developed as the problem of heteroessentiality.
