Cognationes Salonitanae - Early Stage of Development, Trasformation and Feature of Metroac Society
The excavation area is concentrated in territory of the Roman province of Salona. Salona was the strong metroac center for the entire province, which is proved by numerous of dedications to Cybele, the existence of collegium dendroforum and the institution of the archigallus. A particulary interesting group of finds, which confirms the existence of a religious association called cognatio, is represented by seven inscriptions. This association is a specific phenomenon related only to this area and it's also another important component in the development and manifestations of metroac religion. The author discusses the establishment and transformations from a private to a public association with a special accent to the problem of the expansion and closeness of the cult of Venus with the cult of the Great Mother, which is also connected to changes in the social structure of Salona.
