Universality of atomic quantum halo clusters
The results of the recent research in quantum halo systems will be presented. We have explored the ground states of the weakly bound small clusters, consisting of two to four spin-polarized (sp)D, spT, He-3 and He-4 atoms, with a radius extending well into the classically forbidden regions. Calculations of the size and binding energy have been performed using variational and diffusion Monte Carlo methods. Using dimensionless measures of the binding energy and cluster size, studied atomic clusters are compared to other known halos in different fields of physics, as well as to scaling relations obtained using model potentials. In addition, the interparticle interaction potentials with different shape but same scattering length and effective range are used in order to show that universal low-energy properties do not depend on the details of the interactions at short distances. Furthermore, the shape of trimers is explored using angle-angle distribution function.
