REFORMA ZAKONSKE REGULATIVE NAKON HAVARIJE BUŠAĆE PLATFORME DEEPWATER HORIZON U MEKSIČKOM ZALJEVU
Drilling platform Deepwater Horizon caught on fire on April 20th 2010, as a consequence of uncontrolled eruption from the Macondo 252 well, got heavily damaged and sank after two days. Eleven people lost their lives, it is estimated British Petroleum had over fifty billion dollars costs. US government and whole oil industry realize how important is to implement legislation and enforce stricter inspection on platforms. Investigation teams who are formed to investigate accident agreed that series of wrong decisions and malfunctioning blow out preventers led to the largest oil spill in history of Gulf of Mexico. In this thesis the legislation before and after the incident is described in detailed.
