Design of Interior Permanent Magnet Motor Series Končar-MES IPM180

This report summarizes the results of optimized design of series of interior permanent magnet (IPM) motors rated 50, 75 and 100 kW. The series of IPM motors has the same cross-section of stator and rotor laminations optimized to yield maximum torque density. The power rating of each motor in the series is determined by adjusting the axial length of the motor and rewinding the stator winding in order to utilize the available DC bus voltage at rated speed to the best possible extent. The motors in the series are designed to conform with IE4 efficiency standard.
