The Work of Lawyer-Linguists in the EU Institutions

This chapter examines the work of lawyer-linguists in the institutions of the European Union: the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Commission, Council and European Parliament, and the European Central Bank. It touches upon the main text typologies dealt with in their daily work, explains the accreditation requirements and selection processes, and outlines the pre-accession activities of lawyer-linguists in candidate countries, making suggestions as to their training.
