The Application of the FEI Rules for the Welfare of the Horse in Equestrian Sports in Croatia
The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) is the roof international organization competent for equestrian sports that enforces the rules for Olympic disciplines such as Jumping, Dressage, Three Day Event (military), as well as the rules concerning other equestrian sports (Endurance, Vaulting, Driving, Reining and Para-Equestrian). The FEI has enforced the Code of Conduct for the Welfare of the Horse that requires accepting the fact that the welfare of the horse is the first priority all the time and that the welfare of the horse must not be subordinated to competitive and commercial influences. Different methods of trainings and competitions must not contain any of the techniques considered to be degrading for horses or having potential to cause injuries and consequent pain. Every use of medication (doping) with the aim of achieving better sport results is strictly forbidden.
