Erosion Corrosion Damage in Condensing Steam Turbines

In condensing steam turbines considerable erosion corrosion damage may occur due to the effect of wet steam stream. Erosion corrosion reduces the usefulness and reliability of condensing steam turbines. In this paper the basic mechanism of an erosion corrosion process of stator turbine parts are presented. Also the results of long-term investigation of an erosion corrosion process of stator parts of condensing steam turbines in exploitation are presented. The measures of protection from erosion corrosion are presented too.
